The carriage way leading from Chevet Lodge, down through the Estate and eventually ending up
on the Bradford Road. The stone posts are still intact and part of the gate, being laid on the floor as only the top of the gate and metal hanging survive. The gate post has only one metal hanging for the gate. This is because a spike at one time,would have been inbedded in the ground for the gate to pivot on and therefore close without the
need for anyone to get off the coach to close the gate. My guide for the day was Elsie Walton and
